Beginning this Saturday, May 17, ITS Server Administration will begin moving Novell files to a new storage unit. To get ready for that move, some prep work must be done that will cause an outage to occur. The outage is scheduled to begin this Friday, May 16 at 7:00pm and will last until approximately 3:00am (Sat). During this time, clients will NOT have access to network drives (H:, J:, S:, etc), NetStorage (remote access to network files), and student webpages. ITS anticipates that it could take up to a week to move all of the data. While the files are being moved, clients may experience some sluggishness when logging in to Novell or accessing their files, but this work will not prevent them from accessing their files. As a result, ALL Pay-for-Print services will be unavailable beginning Saturday, May 31st. It is expected that services will be restored by mid-July. During this transition period, any immediate printing needs in Cone 369 (SGA suite) may be handled by Quincey Hinson who will accommodate printing requests ‘within reason' using her shared network printer. Quincey is available daily between 8:30 - 4pm. Beginning May 31st, this will be the ONLY method of printing available to the Student Association workstations in Cone 369 with the exception of those who have their own local printers (RSA, GPSG, etc.).
