The availability of Storage Space on UCIT Servers is essential to the operations of SLFM’s respective departments. This space, while seemingly large, is quite limited, when viewed from the perspective of SLFM as a whole. As a result, the conservation and management of this vital resource is a responsibility that all SLFM staff share. All staff (including student employees using staff accounts) user accounts are hosted on shared UCIT servers, and hence consume network storage space. Music libraries and other media files consume substantial amounts of storage space on UCIT’s servers, and in turn should not be stored in user home directories, or other shared network storage (exception here are libraries deemed for business use). Fortunately, there are a few alternatives that will still allow you to enjoy your music while practicing responsible management of your department’s server resources!
